I went to the doctor after falling of a high platform, they said that there was no obvious fracture, but they still put me in a cast because i couldn't move my hand at all and they put me in one of those casts which only has like a little gap just in case my wrist starts to swell. Today they sent me a letter and it says like how i have to pay and stuff, but on in it also says Fractured of distal radius/ulna, and at the bottom it says (DIST R/U#) BE Cast- POP what does that mean? But I'm already in a cast and i have an appointment to see the doctor 4 days later so does that mean their going to put me in a coloured cast? Because i cant even move my fingers still in a cast, i can't feel my fingers. I also looked up in the computer and it said that distal radius/ulna fractures they normally put in a cast which is the one with the gap in the middle which i got, you will feel numbness which i do, and you won't be able to move your fingers which i can't and you normally fracture your distal radius/ulna from falling off heights which i did.Because when its a fracture they first put it in a white hard plaster one then a plastic coloured one, Also if i do go and have another X-RAY there and they don't see anything will they still put me in those coloured plastic casts? Or not

  1. Not all fractures are visible on xray. As a precautionary measure, and since you exhibit the signs of a possible fracture, they put your forearm in a cast. Within 1-2 weeks, they'll xray it again, by this time, a tiny fracture has a tell-tale healing sign visible on xray. That will determine what your next options are.
