What will they theoretically make after the radio?

lets face it, radios are inefficent, can anyone tell me if there is any theory or something already out there that does the job of radios like transmitting soundwaves?

radios are inefficient by the way because of interference, so please name a device that doesnt have that or something being developed that theoratically wont have it.
