Okay let say u went for a buffet with your bestfriend's mom. Somewhere while u are busy eating, u noticed that she took out a plastic bag and started to wrap food to bring home. She went to the buffet counter and start emptying all the jars of candy, bowls of cocktail prawns etc. and pour it all into her plastic bags. Now... imagine yourself in that situation, what will u do? What will your etiquette side be like?

  1. that the ugly part of Malaysian but it happens. it shows that we are uncivilized. Total embarrassment!

  2. Hahahaha.

if i were in that situation.. i'll just sit back enjoy the meal.. after sometime when ppl already stares, excuse my self to the toilet & start calling ppl to make myself busy..

then when after a while when all have finished eating i'll go back to the table & finished the leftovers..

probably will not join the buffet again with her..(with the present of her mom)

  3. that's so embarassing. i'll go to toilet [got stomach upset, pretending, ] send sms, and 'cabut'. I think her anak should give her some briefing at home first before going. I think she's from kampong

  4. i have been in this situation, but it was my own colleague...we had a company dinner and 1/2 way she asked the waiter, "adik ada plastik tak, akak nak tapau la" (do you have a plastic bag so that i could take away )..you know it was so embarrassing since people have not finished their dinner. My friends and I just looked at each other and smiled....then we all got up and went to mingle with the other staffs while this colleague of mine was busy packing ....cheers !

  5. Done it before but in small amounts. I don't think It would make me uncomfortable as I myself have gone through much embarrassing situations such as getting drunk & into fights at posh restaurants.

  6. lol....thats kampong

    Edit:

Actually I did have had a similar experience to that... at my wedding reception! out of the 100 plus guests about 80% were from Iban kampongs, they are really nice and friendly people, but I felt kind of malu after the wedding reception because as they was leaving the hotel lounge they stripped the place bare.

They took just about everything that wasn't nailed down!

    Food by the bag full,

    Candles that weren't used,

    Bottles of wine,

    All the flowers,

    All the balloons,

    etc etc etc.

It was like watching a plague of lotuses!!

(but of course we pity them as they dont have much money)

  7. lol....thats ghetto

  8. I'd be completely embarrased

  9. awwww....what was that again?? lol! give me a full smack on the face will ya!!

lol! if i were to be in that situation..i would just cringed a smile to my bestfriend and would continue having the dinner until the end..and act normal..orang belanja mah..cannot simply waste an opportunity lah...after all, its her mom who people are looking at..not me..i just enjoy the all the heavenly dessert on that counter..and pray in my heart that i could blah from the table as soon as possible!!

    wow..what a wacky situation! lol

  10. Oh my god....I'd be so embarrassed. I would part company(and depending on my best friend's reaction) with her as soon as possible and NEVER dine out with her again.

  11. Woah... why so like that??  I'm shocked to the brim!  I've got frens who always do that (husband & wife alike) not in buffet though but in parties / dinners.  I numbly tell them off, i said they're people who haven't eaten so i think the packing is unnecessary.. If i were in your situation, i would tell the aunty in a nice and diplomatic way.  But i have to agree that its one hard situation.  Tell her that you need to rush off somewhere and you guys need to leave asap...
