You need to use your heart and your mind. If you dont love the person with your heart, then it wouldn't be logical to be with them. If it's not logical or possible to be with that person then you really shouldn't go with what your heart feels.

Your heart and mind are the tools to use  in Love . They are means to an end and not end in themselves. Real Love will transgress both mind and the heart but show the path to reach the soul..

Unfortunately  soull has been, variously , described as not reacheable, vague, imaginary etc. etc. It is not so. It occupies the body that houses the heart. It is nearer to the mind , which envelopes the body.  But it is independent. The momnet the soul feels Love we feel we are truly in live.
