  1. I'd go with Soporro, but I hate sushi.

  2. verdehlo

  3. saki or white wine

  4. I would go with a Riesling.  I would choose a dry one with some acidity.

    .

  5. Plum wine. They serve it with sushi all the time.

  6. Don't know why everybody is saying Sake, I hate Sake.

I actually like a fruity red with sushi. Something like a Beaujolais, or a light red like Pinot Noir.  If in the mood for a white wine I would go with a dry like Chardonnay or Pinot Gris.

I would suggest you open a bottle of your favorite wine, no matter what the book says, and enjoy.

  7. My wife tells me that you should drink Saki with sushi, to kill any possible bacteria from the ingredients.  I prefer a white, semi sweet wine, or a pale pink semi dry to go with it.  All of the above are great with the sushi.

  8. I don't think you would pair wine with sushi. You would pair sake with sushi. Get the most expensive for better quality. Only the worst are served hot to mask the horrible quality within the sake.

  9. Sake is of course the traditional.  I am not a huge Sake fan, personally.

I would consider Sauvignon Blanc - something from New Zealand's Marlborough region like Kim Crawford or Mud House would be good.

Alternately a dry Riesling - like an Alsatian Riesling would be good - you could get away with a sweeter white, but it may overpower some of the more subtle sushi's

If you prefer red's, keep it light - Pinot Noir as opposed to Cabernet, Merlot, etc.

  10. It depends on what you like. Saki is paired best with sushi, but can be a little strong. Any white wine will do fine especially crisp wines such pinot grigio, sauvigion blanc, or if you like sweet wine, reisling. Good luck.
