I have a kenwood z828 head unit and I know I have to connect the Blue/White wire to the amp in order to get it to turn on and off with the car, but what do I connect to the amp in order to get the actual sound pumping through it.

The problem is I have a 4 channel amp and one sub to power. I don't know what I need to connect from the head unit to the amp then which I should use from the amp to the sub. I only have two speakers and I believe they are on front (if that matters). A thorough explanation would be nice because I've asked the same question a few different times and nobody tells me what to do, just answers questions I didn't ask.

  1. most people use rca's or ''the jack kind'' but if your amp has high level inputs the you can just hook it up that way by splicing into your rear speaker line for a signal

  2. You need power, ground, remote turn on and RCA's . Hook the R CA's to the sub output of the radio to RCA Y-splitters on the amp so you have 4 RCA inputs to the amp. Set the sub crossover on the radio at about 100 hz. then bridge each channel of the amp to each sub . Make sure your controls are set the same on each channel of the amp .

  3. there are red and white rca cables that come with an amp installation kitt, they look like the cables u connect a dvd player to ur tv with but its only 2 instead of red white and yellow its only red and white. my question is do u have an aftermarket radio cuz if u dont then u have to go buy a box that connects to ur factory speakers, but if u do have a factory radio there should be 2 to 4 red and white plug-ins, u connect one end there and then run it to the same plug-ins on the amp, the amp is a 4 channel but u only need to plug into one of the sets of plug-ins which again are color red and white, then just add some wire to ur speaker and connect that wire to the + and - speaker outlets on the amp. in reality i suggest that u take it to someone who know how to do it cuz most likely u will end up burning out the amp

  4. The blue remote wire from the head unit to turn the amp on.  You need RCA's to send the signal to the amps.
