  1. Caramel!  xD

    Edit:  Six-gun law's a genius.  ^_^

  2. Either--according to High English it is pronounced with the first syllable with the "E" sound.  Uneducated people and those people who are trying to "put on airs"" pronounce the first syllable with the "I" sound.

  3. nuclear

  4. 1.  Forte: a strong point, as of a person; that in which one excels: I don't know what her forte is, but it's not music.

This is correctly pronounced "fort" but so many speakers over the years have mispronounced it "for-tay" that both pronunciations are now considered standard.

    2. Patina: a film or incrustation, usually green, produced by oxidation on the surface of old bronze.

This is correctly pronounced "PAT-n-uh" but, again, so many speakers have mispronounced it that "pat-TEEN-uh" is now shown as a secondary pronunciation.

    3. Restaurateur: the owner or manager of a restaurant. This is often mispronounced as "restauranteur". There's no "n" in the word.

  5. carmel

  6. Pierre, South Dakota (it's pronounced "peer")
