I am in the mood for making sauteed portabella mushrooms and rice combo. What else is there to use besides soy sauce? I don't feel like soy sauce. Anyone have any suggestions?

  1. just use butter, season salt and pepper. mix together.

  2. Saute the mushrooms with onions and peppers - fajita style (season as you like or use a taco or fajita mix) and serve over plain rice (k.i.s.s.) or make mexican rice and beans - tortillas on the side.

  3. 2 Tbs butter

    1/2 Tbs olive oil

    1/2 Tbs balsamic vinegar

    1 clove garlic, minced

    1/8 tsp dried oregano

    1 lb mushrooms, sliced

    1 shallot, chopped (optional)

Melt butter with oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

    Stir in all remaining ingredients.

Sauté for 15 minutes, or until tender.

  4. Use french onion soup mix, and add a can of sliced water chestnuts.  When removed from pan, toss in a 1/4 c sliced almonds.

  5. French Onion soup mix.

  6. How about Teriyaki sauce? You could also leave it plain.
