  1. We tried that once......didn't work out.

  2. I'm sorry, but the two "countries" would be very disjointed. Besides, we already went through one bout of secession. We don't need another.

  3. You'd have a happy side that's proud of their new country and an angry, dissenting unpatriotic side.

  4. that is a treasonous view. They already tried that in was the Civil War. I don't think this conversation is productive to the point that we are One country, one nation. The point is why would you want to be divided.

Also a note, A republican country equals a radical Christian State just like  Saudi Arabia is a Muslim state. Meaning, their laws are governed by the Bible (Only) or in the case of Saudi Arabia the Koran.

  5. Perhaps that will be what will have to happen. It seems more and more that no one party or one person can unify the country.

I guess it would break up as west coast + east coast - the middle - the south.

  6. Tried that 145 yrs ago but the tyrannical federal government didn't like it.

  7. It wouldn't be America anymore.

  8. How would you separate it?  People talk about red and blue states, but most states are purple with the divisions going through counties and even houses.  It makes easy starting points for talk show hosts but the truth is far more complicated.

Besides, even if you could separate that way, the two sides would then fracture within themselves.  People always disagree, in civilization we find a way to come back together.

  9. We tried that in the 1860s and didn't like the result. In the case of the state of Virginia, half of it wanted to stay in the union and is now the state of West Virginia.

And since red and blue states are all over the map and since the split between red and blue in each state is barely one side of 50-50 or the other, there is no practical way to divide things up overall.

But if McCain gets in and continues its disastrous fiscal policies, California, Oregon and Washington state think hard about seceding. They already have a name. Cascadia.

It is likely British Columbia and Alaska would join it. Maybe Nevada, Utah and Idaho too.
