Question:

What would I call this ring?

I want to get a ring for my girlfriend, for her birthday. The idea of the ring is to "mark my territory" so to speak. We'd already like to get married someday, but we're not at a point that we could get engaged right now.

I want to give her a ring that says "You are my girl and nothing will ever change that." My problem is that I don't know what you would call this ring. Promise ring? I think that is taken.

The other question is, what finger should it go on?

  1. Well a promise ring is what you usually call it (an old term yes I know), but it usually goes on the right ring finger (you know the one next to the pinky). I got one from my partner, and it's called a promise ring too.

  2. Claddagh rings are good for this......on the right hand facing in or out means available or not and on the left hand means married or not....

of course if you want a different kinda ring and just want a "title" you can give it how bout 'sweetheart' or 'first-love' or you can go with the traditional 'promise ring'....just means you both hope it will turn into an engagement ring later down the road!
