What would I have to do to become a Camera Man?

Could somebody give me the full details on how one can become a Camera Man? ex: Courses I need to take TAFE/UNI

You need to be trained - either at uni or TAFE.

Strongly recommend AGAINST private training organsiations - these places cost an arm and a leg and only want bums on seats for money.

The major capital cities have TAFE courses - I beleive you need a photography portfolio to get in.

some of the regional areas - e.g. Gosford etc also have the courses at TAFE.

Every major university has a course involving film and tv production -which is what you are after.  Upon graduation you are equiped to do camera work and other stuff; depending of course what you have foucsed on.

Pick the areas (locations) you want to study in and ring the nearby unis and TAFE.

BE WARNED TAFE is popluated by many low level clerical staff who think they know - I have been told that certain course were not available when I knew they were (and it was proved they were).  It is best to go inoto the counter at TAFE and also look online.
