What would I have to wear in western halter and western showmanship?

just wondering so if i show in those classes this year i will know what to wear. I need all the help i can get...my first year in showing.

Pretty much the same thing in either class...good hat, belt/buckle and boots, western dress pants, not jeans, not this time.  Good, well fitting halter, and practice before you go into the show.  A vest tends to look tidy and ties everything together, shirt buttoned to the top with a short tie, form fitting shirt, vest and pants.  Work with your horse lot's before you go to the show and remember the most important thing in these two classes, it's the horse, not you, so you are there to make the horse look it's best...

You need to wear a proper fitting show shirt and black dress pants that cover all of your boots with only the tip sticking out. You should wear a helmet or cowboy hat depending on you age. You horse should be very clean and shaved properly. With a leather or clean black nylon halter fitting snugly to the horses cheek bones. And you should try and learn the Quarter system. Remember to never get int in the way of the judge. Just make your horse look good.

I ride and show western, so I know EXACTLY what you need!  In halter showing just keep your horse very well groomed. You must wear a long sleeved, button down shirt and long pants (jeans?). You can also wear a cowboy hat, but that is optional.

In showmanship, you will be on your horse. I STRONGLY suggest a helmet, but do what you want. You may wear a cowboy hat if you choose. You must also wear a long sleeve buttondown shirt, and ling pants. You may wear jeans if you choose, but you could also wear something a little flashier- these are chaps tht you could wear over jeans if you choose. Your horse will have to be groomed and well kept. Make sure it's not too fat, or too thin, and doesn't have mite marks{I got counted down this year for that!!!}

You horse should also have a clean shiny halter.

And you'll have to paint his hooves black, which is a pain.

You should wear

Blue or black jeans

Polished cowboy boots

Cowboy hat, perferably Black, or brown

Belt, and buckle

Your shirt should be tucked in

Your hair must be above your collar,

Pulled back, pinned up, braids.

Full length long sleeved shirt, covering midriff,

I roleld my sleeves up, because it was a 3/4 sleeve shirt, and I was fine.
