  5. No, why would they? Plus, it's an obscure historical fact that Texas technically still belongs to Mexico. When Santa Anna was forced to sell the state for 10 million dollars (of that time of course), the US only paid 6 million. Technically 40% of Texas should still be a part of Mexico even today.

  6. The US has enough trouble managing its own affairs, why would it want to take over Mexico?
