But, in the 100m race, his top speed was reached well after the first 40 yards, and people that run the 40 yard dash don't get starting blocks. On the other hand, the 100m racer has to react to the sound of a gun.

Given all of this, I would estimate his 40 yard dash time to be close to 4 seconds flat, but a few hundredths of a second away at something like 4.04 seconds.

Doing the same thing for Campbell-Brown, I would estimate it to be around 4.5 seconds.
