Don't do unto others what you wouldn't want them to do unto you.

I basically just edited the Golden Rule.

  1. sorry, that's just dumb.

  2. All it takes for evil to succeed is for good men to fail to act. Not doing anything wrong to another, just means we would all be isolated from each other and no one would really care about another.

  3. Hmmm ... I think your edited version would be better if it said:

"Don't do unto others what you wouldn't want others to do unto you."

Your version seems to be saying that you shouldn't do something to someone if you don't want that particular person to do the same thing back.  But things aren't always equal that way.  Sometimes you wouldn't care if one person did something to you, but you'd care a lot if a different person did it.  Such as someone you cared about.  Which is why recently when someone who didn't care about me hurt me I needed to do something a little different to get my point across.  And of course that was something I wouldn't care for someone to do to me.  I'm not sure if that's exactly in the spirit of the golden rule, but it sounds fair to me.
