okay, im a 19 year old mother of an 11 month old baby boy. I just got a pretty good job at racetrac making around $500 a week AFTER

taxes. I work from 9:30 at night untill 7AM Not bad? BUT..i have another job offer from 5PM till 9PM monday thru friday and 8AM till 8PM saturday. This is for $9 an hour. Now mind you i will NOT be putting my son in daycare, we have had a horrible experience with that. But, im an overacheiver and tend to work myself to death. So, would you work only at racetrac or just do both and get a lot of money but feel like a zombie?

  1. star...I say try it and see what happens...you may find you do have energy and are not too exerted...women have done this for years...if they did it and gave their children love, attention and mothering then so can you...do what you think is right...that money will come in handy...especially with a child...if you have people or someone you love and trust watching him while you are working and your gut thinks it might be a good thing then go for it...if it doesn't work at least you can say you tried...

  2. Maybe try and find a job that will pay a lot more than your first job with the same hours. So that way you won't have to be away from your son all the time. He's still a baby and he needs you most. Money isn't always everything, money can't buy him his childhood back. So I suggest you find another job, seeing that you have experience it may not be hard to find a better paying job.

  3. Working yourself to death will not help your son.  He needs your care and attention too.  I would take that time to enjoy and have a good time raising my son.  Money isn't everything.  Caring for a child is more important then having a lot of money IMHO.

  4. keep your job. odds are with too many jobs you could loose track of the hours and miss a shift or sleep in and get fired. also employers tend to not like it when they know you have another job and dont make them your first priority. you need to factor in sleep and your baby. you dont have time for both jobs, keep the one that pays
