Maybe she looked like a Jody at birth, or maybe her parents had that name chosen w/o knowing the s*x of the baby.   Like if I was to have a baby (which will never happen), I would call the baby LEE for a boy or LEIGH for a girl.

Before I was a teen, I would have named a baby boy JODY

or a baby girl JODIE.      When I was a young teen, I wanted a boy named CHARLIE or a girl named CHARLEIGH.
