What would a 19 year old get paid for bar work in new zealand?

Yup, min wage is about to go up to $12 an hour. I get paid $15 - $20 but it depends where you work and what you do there :)

Bar work is usually $10-$12/hr.  And also, people don't tip in NZ so that can't be added on.

Probably just over $10 an hour..but if you have some qualifications a bit higher than that...

Try Dunedin, it has a heap of bars that are packed some nights so work there with some experience would be in demand

I thought the min wage was over $12 an hour now? Bar work is popular, and as such the wages are low.  So just above the minimum with rubbish hours.

expect minimum wage which is $11.75.  Most bars would only pay that or slightly higher like maybe $12.50.  Your age is against you for $15 plus.

No tips generally either, unless you work in a bar in a hotel in a place like Queenstown that has lots of overseas guests as opposed to NZ, or cheap Aussies
