1864- A 77th Regiment, Illinois Infantryman who became recon and then was transfered to the 11th reg in Texas where he was a prison guard. stationed in Texas and Louisiana. His traveles count for battles preps and marches throughout the Southern states. This journal lists daily activites and even the election of Lincoln.

It would seem that someone that was active military that ended up as a prison guard might have been wounded or disabled.A journal is worth what an interested party is willing to pay, so go to the source, Illinois
