What would a Trustees job be in a charity?

trustees are people that would be in charge of a business

which departments would they liase with, what activities would they be responsible for??

  1. Trustees, or board of directors, are responsible for fund-raising for the organization, and are the official "owners" of such. Most board members each contribute a significant amount of money to an organization, and raise additional money from professional contacts.

    Unless the organization is entirely all volunteer, the board hires a paid staff to engage in all activities needed for a charity or nonprofit organization to operate. The board meets once a month or once a quarter to get a report from the staff on their work.

    Some board members volunteer additional time in particular areas of focus -- a board member might advise the marketing director on marketing strategies, for instance.

    Some all-volunteer organizations have board members that engage in regular administrative and program duties. But such charities are very hard to sustain for very long.
