What would a typical French family's dinner be like?

  1. It would be:

    Bread

    Stewed chicken

    Fruit and cheese.

    Lots of wine.


  2. onion soup followed by asparagus with hollandaise sauce, and then steak, bernaise sauce and potato gratin, followed by fruit, cheese or tart

  3. Escargot?  Quische?  Creme Broulee?  I would think it would be a nice cut of beef, braised with broth, and mashed potato's.  Don't forget the red wine!

  4. Onion soup, beef borgeonine ( beef stew) fresh vegetables, salad, wine, pastries.

  5. soups: Fennel Velouté, Tarragon Tomato Soup with Olive Oil croûtons

    main dish: Tartiflette au Reblochon, Rabbit with Vegetables=Cocotte printanière de lapin

    dessert: Lemon Millefeuille, Orange Tartlette, Lavender Crème Brûlée

    and cheese...

    Salade d'orange, salade nicoise, bouillabaisse, consomme, vichyssoise, cocktail de crevette, moules mariniere, pate, foei gras

    Main course

    Dessert

    Creme brulee, choux chantilly, macaroons, crepes, peache flambee, tart au citron, tartine, eclair, mousse au chocolate

    All washed down with some nice strong espresso..
