What would a authentic 1864 Civil War journal from a Confederate ranking officer sell for? Anyone have a clue?

  1. Alot depend on what theater of the war he was in, who he fought with, what battles he was in etc, If the journal is about ever day life, compared to actual battles, then it will be worth less. The thing to do is to contact  the Sons of The Confederate Veterans,in the group this officers was in,for instance, The Richmond Grays , are from that area in Virginia and see if they have this individual on their roster. They might have more than a passing interest in this CW soldier, and would aide you in establishing the Worth of the journal, and possibly purchasing same.
