  1. errm, i think what you're looking at is actually part of it's eye.

  2. I think you are talking about a Disease. Pop eye or something.

    GOOD LUCK!

  3. do you mean like this:

    http://www.bettatalk.com/images/POP-EYE_...

???  if so its Pop-eye.. treat it immediatly with apropriate medications! popeye is serious!

  4. It is possible it has Popeye you should take it to the petco or pet smart to buy it the melafix that treats Popeye

  5. By a "bubble over your betta's eye" do you mean that your betta's eye is bloated, looking like a bubble? If so, then your Betta most likely has Popeye, also known as exophthalmos or exophthalmia, which is more of a condition rather than a disease. It's caused by a bacterial infection, parasite infestations, poor water quality, or bad interior metabolic systems.

It's not really fatal for your fish (fish rarely die from it), but it can cause your fish to go blind or even have its eye explode. Sometimes it goes down on its own by improving water quality, but if your betta is looking worse try medicating it with  Erythromycin Powder for around 10 days.

If both of your betta's eye bulge without getting better after water changes, then it's symptoms for Abdominal Dropsy, which is very dangerous and not much fish can survive this. Try treating your betta by increasing the temperature to 84-86F gradually, and 1 dose of  Gentamycin Sulfate Powder. Afterwards, don't do water changes for a week, and remove medications in the water using activated carbon.

That's assuming your betta is sick of course, if not then maybe your betta was playing with the filter and a bubble got in his eye. :]

  6. It's possible that your Beta could be blind.

I used to have a fish that was blind in it's right eye. There was a clear bubble or patch over it.
