if a dumb foreigner (your's truly) used the phrase "magmahal kunin", what would a fillipino/a think they (i) were (was) saying?

what does the phrase actually mean, if anything, in english?

  1. your tagalog phrase is not complete. so i am sorry you cannot translate this in english they are also two different words.

    mahal = love  or expensive

    kunin = get / take

    mag = ???  the  meaning depends on the complete sentence.

    for example:

    baka magmahal kunin mo na yan  = it means that :

    it might be expensive soon so you should better buy it now.


  2. the phrase would not make any sense. the literal translation is "to love take" or "become expensive take".
