Question:

What would an increase in dreams mean?

I've been having a lot of dreams lately. Nothing seems to be bothering me but every time I fall asleep, I dream about something or other. Mostly things that aren't scary but I have had a few nightmares about getting shocked with a taser and then about being chased by a demon guy. But even those dreams turn out alright in the end.

I'm just wondering what it means.

  1. I would say Congrats because people often work hard to have more dreams, but it sounds like you weren't looking for this to happen.

An increase in dreams usually means that your psyche has more messages to give you, or you are having more time to dream.

    Are you sleeping longer hours?

Maybe, your life is decompressing a bit, so your psyche can play catch up -now that you have more time to pay attention to your dreams. It wants to give you the information that you were too busy for before.

    Better dreaming through chemistry?

Maybe you are having more Magnesium before sleep? Maybe you are on some medication that has this as a side-effect?

  2. Everyone dreams all night, but not solid. There are five stages of sleep. Four numbered ones and REM. REM stands for Rapid Eye Movement and it's the stage where people dream.

So if everybody dreams all night every time they hit the REM stage, why do some people remember their dreams and others don't?

Because dreamers need to wake up within a few minutes of dreaming to remember the dream.

Your dreams, specifically, are showing that you're stressed. You're under stress and having a difficult time getting away from it. But the fact that your dreams are resolving well is a good sign with how you're coping with it.

Even so, it wouldn't hurt to do some stress buster stuff. Whatever works for you. (Exercise, reduce stressful things, scream at somebody ((j/k)), you know-- whatever works for you.)

    Blessings!
