  1. Get a funnel as previously mentioned and put graph lines around it, and use green to red to illustrate the Space time distortion as viewed in relativity as it becomes extremely dense and ends into the Quantum singularity in the center.

  2. Crank up the LHC...

  3. Styrofoam and Popsicle sticks.

  4. It is in the center of a large galaxy , U can not see the black hole. It furnishes the gravity in the Galaxy center. It has a mass of infinity.....

  5. Get a trampoline and a bowling ball. :P

  6. just use a real one they re free

  7. get a big piece of flexiblr plastic and make it into a funnel ans pait it black. also put something at the end of the funnel to hold whatever u throw into it.

  8. ok yea dont listen to the first guy because a black hole isnt a funnel, its just a sphere.

to be honest, a model of a black hole would suck. theres nothing to label. i guess if you cut a chunk out of it you could label the singularity. otherwise you can only label the event horizon. those are the only two parts of a black hole.

  9. a big black ball would be fine

  10. The funnel would be a great 2d example of the gravity well surrounding any massive body, let alone a black hole. If you want to make a physical model of one, here's what I'm thinking might be interesting:

Make a black sphere, and put a ring around its equator, painted very bright colors. This represents the accretion disc of materials being sucked into the black hole. If you've got a lot of resources available, you could surround the black sphere with some accrylic material which bends light a lot, so that you can see "around" it, as the actual black hole bends light around itself. Perhaps if you found a glass ball and hollowed about half to two-thirds of it, filling that with the black sphere.
