On my block there at 6 young boys and only one young girl (whom is around the same age as all of them). I had a similar situation when I was growing and because of it, I had a really diffcult time identifying with girls and I always felt left out and just one of the guys. I'm starting to see this happen to the little girl, all the boys had a sleepover the other night and she felt confused and hurt when she was told she couldn't go. I want to take her out on a girl's day!! Just her and I doing semi-girly stuff, since we niether of us are "girly" girls. and I just need some ideas for a perfect GIRLS DAY!

  1. Minature golfing is fun.  That's not really girlie, but it keeps you busy for a little while.  You two could bake cookies together and rent a movie, or maybe go to the movies.  It's also fun walking on the beach, if you are near one.  You could find a place where you could play in the water.  A great thing to do too...is build a fort and make it a girls only club...maybe just for the day.  So you can do things that don't cost money, or do things that don't take too much money, yet not be very girlie, yet just fun.

  2. Go to the movies,

    then the mall.

    go shopping,

then get you hair & nails done.

  3. How nice of you. What goes around comes around. Remember that. You are truly inspiring.

I would choose a movie and eat outs for lunch,, followed by shopping and ice cream. Hope this helps a bit.. have fun

  4. The same situation happened when I was growing up. There were boys my age, but it's always what they want to do. There was a girl 3 years older than me but she was always busy. You are really kind and generous to take some time out of your life for her.

Ask her what she wants to do because probably when she's with the boys she does what she wants to do. Since it's summer maybe swimming. Walk around the mall for a couple of hours even if you don't buy anything it's fun to try on stuff and pretend to buy things. See a movie that she wants to see. Get some ice cream and go to a park. Get manicures and/or pedicures (girly but not super-girly). rents some dvds and watch them and get lots of snacks (pocorn, candy, cookies, chips, etc.) and play some games (board games, card games)<---not girly but still fun. go to an arcade or minature golf.

The best thing you can do is ask her what she wants to do, she'll appreciate somenone asking her. Whatever you guys do she'll enjoy it, especially because you're doing it together.

  5. paint nails

    go shopping

    see a movie

this is very kind of you!

  6. we have a place here called paint yourself silly where you go and paint different ceramic things.

as a 19 year old too that is deffinatly a tom-boy i wish that someone would have showed me how to be girly while being strong and "just one of the boys" at the same time... it wasnt till i was about 16 that i started to figure it out... so take her out of her (and maybe your) comfort zone.... you could find a dress up place or just go to some nice clothes store and try some of the stuff on, youll get a good laugh outta it... get a mani/pedi but she might not want color on her nails. do make up and have a "photo shoot" keep an open dialogue about how beeing girly doesnt mean not being "boy-y" (hmm i like my new word)

see if there is a way to meet local female athletes if not maybe just go to a game

  7. wow, that's so nice of you! i think everyone here has had great ideas so far.

it really depends on where you live. i agree with everyone's ideas so far, but to add a few to the mix: some areas have AWESOME museums, which might sound boring, but for instance, the MIT museum in cambridge is probably one of the coolest things i've ever seen. it's very interactive. or, if you have a historical settlement nearby, it's sometimes fun to go watch people pretending they're from colonial america, and they often have unique crafts and activities to participate in.

these are just things i recall doing with my family and having a lot of fun with.

at the end of the day, i recommend doing something interactive, rather than watching a movie, which can be fun, but doing something together can help you two get to know each other better. have fun!!

  8. movie (age appropriot)

manicure or just get nails painted (very inexpensive)

go to the mall and window shop

    picnic at the park

to to a resturant and order fancy non-alcoholic drinks with extra cherries

  9. I take my girls to have their nails done and they love it!

This is so nice of you!

  10. You could do a craft together - like baking or making a scrapbook.  My niece and I made wild flip-flops with ribbons, jewels and hot glue guns.

  11. a theme park like dollywood if you like roller coasters

a trip somewhere that you would both love

    walt disney world

  12. That is so cool of you to do that for her!

I would try a movie, swimming, maybe going to store and getting a whole bunch of needed ingredients for chocolate (or another flavor) cake/cupcakes and bake something fun together, coloring, water balloon fights, go out for pizza or burgers, ya know! Those are my ideas for fun things to do that are somewhat inexpensive and very fun wether your a girly girl or not.

Have fun! and good luck! =]

  13. First I'd like to say thats a really nice thing of you to do!

Have you asked her what kinds of things she likes?? Maybe after finding out what she's interested in you could go from there.  and depending where you live and the area, there should be a variety of fun things for her.  Like if she likes animals maybe you could take her somewhere like a petting zoo, or the zoo itself, depends how much money you want to spend.  But I think once you find out what she's interested in it should be easier to decide wat to do, and you'll be sure that she'll enjoy the day =)

  14. shopping!!!!

  15. Go to the mall....give her some money and shop around..then go out for a super cool lunch of her choice. After that...give her about 4 choices on where to go and let her pick. I hope this helped.
