What would be a good book for two 7th grade girls to read for a book report?

okay.

So me and my friend have to find a book to read for school (we have to do a video project on it).

We like very unusual, unpredictable, books.

Her favorite books are Twilight, and mine are Chuck Palahniuks.

Although, we don't want it to be too long.

Any suggestions?

  10. Mmm. Try Uglies by Scott Westerfield. It's the first in a trilogy but it's not too long and it's an action/love triangle type story (like twilight) ^_^ Also if you're into vampires you could try the Vampire Diaries

    Less than 200 pages long and really fun but not in a patronizing way. =]

California Blue, by David Klass.  The main character is a boy named Jon, and he is a member of his school's track team.  He loves running in the woods, and during one run, he ends up discovering a whole new species of butterfly.  In order to save it, he has to face his town, which wants to get rid of the forest.  Jon has lots of other problems in his town which make it hard for him to do the right thing, including his uncomfortable feelings for his high school bio teacher.

    Midnight Pearls by Debbie Viguie- a short, YA fantasy with lots of romance, & two classic fairy tales are combined & retold

    The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett- a slightly longer but classic novel; you can't go wrong with a classic

    The True Confessions Of Charlotte Doyle by Avi- a short, YA adventure story; also a classic
