Starting a business can't be all about what there is demand for but little competition.  That may give you a good start, but if there's demand, competition will very soon follow.

If you choose something based on what you are asking for, you may see short-term success but odds are you will ultimately fail.  Do something because you know it as well or better than the competition that is there or will come.  Make your passion your business, and you have a great chance.

There's a lot of different businesses that are good to start.  What type of business?  I would look into home based business opportunities. There are plenty of them around.  I think what is currently in high demand with little competitors is collaborating with the largest direct selling telecommunications service provider in the world.  Partnering up with local and long distance telephone services, Internet services, digital and video phone services, Satellite TV as well as all major cellular phone providers such as Verizon, T-Mobile, Altell, Nextell, Sprint, AT&T etc.

A business that has low start-up cost and even lower overhead is a good start. You must start a business that you will wake up every morning and can't wait to get to your work. Without the passion to succeed it really won't matter what you start. I was able to retire at a early age do to the success of a business I started from my home.
