What would be a good car for a 16 year old??

So i am coming up on 16. Do you think a Pontiac Grand Am would be a good car for a 16 year old guy. I will not be paying for my car but it can not be too expensive not over 10,000.00. So i would just like to know if this would be a good car. I am tall 6 ft. 1in. so will i fit in this car??

I'm 6'2" and just a little bit older than you, and i love mine. Any honda would be good, such as a civic, but the accord has more room.

please, not a pontiac grand am or you will be calling mom and dad to rescue you on a rainy day if the car is under 2k unless you need it for a one or two mile trip.

Yes this would be a good starter car. Inexpensive and fairly cheap to insure. Hopefully you will get the good student discount too.

3 of my friends have Grand Am's, they havent had any problems with theres, they are a very good car, I would also look at a used Honda civic, they r very good on gas and honda has some of the best reliability and a good resale value, so i would look at both cars and see what u like better, hope this helps.

try to buy   a use car,  maybe you'll crash  and waste the new car, get a use honda,  etc.

Dude, you should get a 2004 Honda Accord... good price, good fuel economy, and of course its reliable. yah you'll fit in it

Check on craigslist.com and search 2004 Honda Accord and put the maximum price $10,000. A few should come up.

Honestly.... you should propably get a cheap car. nothing fancy. male teen car insurance is very high. and if you get a very fancy car it's even higher. get something depenndable and just enjoy the drive... not the car

you are 16. you should look at cars 5,000 and under. your parents are going to be paying through the roof for insurance, anyways.

first car should be a cash car so when you bang it up, (yes, you will) it wont be that bad, After about a year, you should have enough experience to be able to get a nice car and know how to drive defensively and take care of the car

being a teenager my first car was a 1995 acura integra ls and i really liked it! most likely people for thier first car will drive it to the ground.... so look for something cheap low maintnence and good on gas! hope i was some help to you.

Let's see I think a good car for a 16 year old would be something that would most likely be fuel efficent not too old and not too new.... something... like around 1996 I guess... but it's a teenager so most likely they will be hard to please seeing as how image is almost everything to them and if it's not new or in they might be a bit upset.... so... err... I guess it depends on your teenagers likes :))

though I'll say... they are lucky when I asked my mom for a car when I was that age she said... "get a job" so I did... lol
