Need some ideas on a career that does not require going back to school full time and has a decent salary.

  1. CONSTRUCTION. Actually, remodeling today, thank you GWB. Worked for me. Gave me a few decent bucks and a lot of desire to do something else, like teaching. After teaching, I gravitated to a good-paying job with no stress - guess where - Construction.

  2. child care center director

    child care teacher

life skills trainer (goodwill industries, etc)

    professional business trainer

    nanny

    instructor at sylvan or huntington

  3. Prison guard?

    Parole officer?

    Aid in a mental facility?

Any of those have to be easier than being a teacher in this day and age!

  4. Have a word with the Employment Office for jobs relating to your degree!

You will be suprised at the jobs offered for people with a degree and they are not always related to the degree subject!

  5. Go back to school for something else that you would like to do. Because you already have a degree in teaching it will make you that much more valuable in your career. It will also be something that you want to do. Trust me having passion in what you do is more decent than any salary.

  6. With a degree and QTS, you've already compeleted a significant amount of research. If I come out of teaching in the near future I would consider a research fellowship with an interest in special education.

I think your specialist subject will have an impact on a variety of career choices. As a PE teacher, I believe I would have the opportunity to join the forces, police, or any other active profession.

Good Luck, I hope you find something you really enjoy!
