  1. Fred Flinstones car..... Its cheap and hey you dont need gas *L*

  2. a toyota corolla has good fuel economy and is very reliable and tough

  3. I would prefer Honda or Toyota.

I think - you should also compare insurance quotes for these cars before buying one, for example here: http://autoinsurance.maclenet.com

First time drivers usually have much higher rates than others. And it depends from car.

  4. for $4,000

    look for

98 Acura CL, 98 Ford Mustang V6, 98 Honda Accord or Civic, 98 Nissan Frontier or Pathfinder, 98 Subaru Impreza or Legacy, 98 -00 Toyota Corolla or Echo 00

these are all reliable and will last longer than other cars in this price range.

  5. yes it would.

especially if you are just learning to drive.

Later on as a more experienced driver you can get yourself a job and buy a car that you like

    try http://autotrader.com

they have used cars that you can choose by make model year and price range

  6. Yes, toyota's and hondas are good cars, and its good to have a variety of vehicles in mind, but sometimes you can come across a good bargain in the least expected places!!!!!!!!!

                                   (JUST A THOUGHT!!!!!!)

Shop around in the Surburban neighborhood.  There are always elderly couples wanting to buy a new car, and are willing to sell their "well kept" used car for cash in  the price range that you are looking at.

                                          (EXPRESSION)

Don't settle for a volkswagon when you can have something better!

  7. You can look at a Honda Civic around the 1998 year. They are really good cars, really reliable and not expensive to maintain or repair. Also they get about 35-40mpg average, which is great when gas prices are so high. It will last you past 300,000 miles if you just keep up with service. Or you can try and find a 98 Honda Accord if you need more room, it gets less gas mileage, but it has a lot of room.

  8. Toyota Corrolla or Camry. Pontiac Grand Prix. Honda Civic. you should be able to find a late 90's model in that price range.
