What would be a good complement style for Americanized Tae Kwon Do?

I have trained for 10 years in Americanized Tae Kwon Do and now I would like to try another style that would compliment it well. I would like to learn throws and take downs (maybe judo) but also submissions. I need to find a compliment for my current stand-up style.

Any suggestions? And please explain why you think it would be good.

  1. Probably something like Brazilian Ju-jitzu.  The fact you are proficient in Tae Kwon Do would make you an excellent standing fighter- great kicks etc.  BJJ would add elements of take downs and groundfighting, thus rounding out your martial arts.  You would have both the long range and the short range covered.

  2. I think kendo would be excelent. you practice with bamboo sticks and hit each other using special gear, it uses coordination and strength, and technique in order to beat the opponent. It is really great you should try it.
