  1. Do they drink wine?  If so, a bottle of a nice wine basket would be nice. Or you can find out what their favorite resturants are and maybe get them a gift card from there.

  2. What about taking them out for a nice dinner? Or a nice bottle of something, like Crown Royale. You could get them a gift certificate to a resteraunt, tickets to something you know they like (like dinner theatre for example). Whatever you choose, don't foget to include a card with a heart-felt thank you.

  3. I think when giving a gift it's important to give them something they're going to like.  Many people when giving gifts forget this simple rule and give them something that they themselves would like.  Which usually doesn't work out well.  You were with them for two whole months ... is there something the whole family enjoys?  Or something nice they might need for their house?  Whatever you decide to get them, just base it on what you know about them.

  4. How about a big flag of their country to be adorned on their wall, as a symbol of their pride of their own country and a symbol of friendship and your respect. That would be great!

  5. Have s*x with all of them before you leave! like group s*x?!

  6. maybe a scrapbook of all the things you did while staying with them.

or maybe you could take them out too eat

or get them a gift card for somewhere

  7. Get them something for the house like a microwave, toaster, rugs, etc. something everyone in the house can use.

  8. How about an assortment of gift cards from favorite places in their area?  You could return their hospitality by treating them to a few things.  Perhaps a gift certificate for coffee and baked goods, a movie rental, a shop that sells their favorite European food,  a nice dinner.  Since you stayed with them for two months, they put themselves out quite a bit allowing you into their family.  Showing them that you noticed where they go and what they like to do will prove you are a thoughtful and attentive guest.

  9. Not knowing anything about them personally, I would have to say a gift card.

  10. Did you stay with them in Europe? How about something that represents where you are from! When I lived in France for a month, I brought my family some chocolate covered blueberries and a coffee table book on Maine (my home state) -- they loved it! Look for something that they cannot get where they are from. It will make the gift more personal and they can brag to all of their friends about it.

Also, Google what types of gifts may be insulting in their culture (often overlooked but very important). For example, whereas bringing a bottle of wine to a dinner party is commonplace in the United States, in France and many other parts of Europe it is insulting because it suggests that you do not trust them to pick out a good wine.
