What would be a good item to collect on a chain necklace, or some sort?

Of course, I do not want the obvious, like charms or beads.

None of that.

My friend has a chain necklace and she collects those cap things on cans from energy drinks.

I thought it was a good idea, but i don't want to collect can caps, I'd be doing the same as my friend.

So what would be a good thing to collect?

How about little crystals. Or perhaps seashells.

Small trolls with different color hair, different colored fake fingernails, corks, curly colored wire.

My vote is for guitar picks.  They would be fairly easy to put a hole in and many are very artistically designed.
