  1. If you love nature, you wouldn't be happy being a P.I., because your love of nature would be ruined by seeing the harsh underbelly of society.

Geology may be right for you because you are outside 80% of this job and you won't have to be stuck inside a stuffy, dimly lit office and never get to see the sun.

I think you would do well being a writer. Your question is well thought out, intelligently written, and well organized. Writers have a lot of freedom in their schedule, and in some cases you can work from home, saving you time with your family and saving you money.

Whatever you decide to do I know you will love it, and you will do well at it. Who knows, maybe you will become a quadruplebillionaire like J.K. Rowling, and then you can e-mail me and thank me with a gift of Ten billion dollars for suggesting you should be a writer.

  2. Geology-

which could lead to GIS, mapping, meterology (weather forecasting)

I wish I had chosen Geology!

    Good Luck at College!

  3. It sounds like you have a good novel in you. I would start as a journalist, detective or, depending on where you live, a P.I., and write on the side. Also, if you choose to work as a detective, you could use your experiences in your story/ies.

  4. While you're in college, go heavy on literature and writing courses.  That will be your foundation.  Then, before you declare a major, research those professions.  Start by talking to career counselors.  They can help you match the right career with your abilities and traits.
