What would be a good knife for....?

Question

Knifing a hog, yall know jumping on it's back and slitting it's throught. How big of a knife?

i've stabbed quit a few dogs, but never jumped on its back and slit it's throat. catch dogs went in a caught the pig, i went in with a ka'bar put it at an angle behind the plate and the hog goes down in a few seconds. 7 in ka'bar fighting style or 6.5 buck 119

If I were going to jump on a hog's back with a knife, I'd want it to be a bayonet attached to the barrel of a Ruger Redhawk .357 Magnum.

naw u dont want a bowie knife..they are fun but just a lil bit to big for hog hunting. Get a medium sized knife. Just make sure its sharp as it can be. A blade  with a serrated edge would probly be the best. Try this site

You better be dam good if you want to hunt board with just a knife.  I have seen it done but frankly, I'll take my revolver when I go board hunting.

Any size knife would work, but I would suggest a Bowie Knife.  You might also consider a handgun.  You are crazy for wanting to do that such a thing, but whatever floats your boat man.  LOL  The Bowie Knife would do the trick better than some kind of small pocketknife.  You definantly want a fixed blade of some kind.

mosse oak i think makes a good knife for that but I would shoot the hog first. they have edged weapons as well

Refer to the Rambo set of knives.  They always seemed to do ok for him.  Should these prove too large, McGyver always seems to be able to do everything with his Swiss Army folder...
