What would be a good material to cover chairs with? ?

I have some tall chairs that need a new seat cover b/c they are very worn. I just need to unscrew the bottom panel and then I can easily replace the material. These chairs are going in our bar area, what would be a good material to cover them with that would be durable and easy to clean?

Go to a fabric store and buy some vinyl....comes in all kinds of colors. Take one of the original covers(material)with you and they will let you know how much you need. Some vinyls are more flexible(stretchy).Get the stretchy one so it has some give and won't tear as easily.

I love re-upholstering...especially if I don't have to sew!!

There are some attractive vinyls out there that you can buy at a fabric store or online. Vinyl is more challenging to work with than upholstery, but it is durable and washable.

If you found an upholstery fabric that is perfect for your decor, you could use that and spray it with several coats of Scotchgard [tm].

Also if you found some fabric that is wonderful, but not durable and maybe too thin, you could use that fabric and add another layer of clear vinyl on top of it.  Fold them under the chair seat together, secure and you're set.
