  1. it depends what kind of art major you are. fine arts? graphic design? interior design? animation? etc. etc. right now i'd say the biggest demand in the art industry is web design because everyone is putting their businesses on the internet.

and not everyone needs a minor. i'm a graphic/industrial design major and don't have one because i just don't feel the need to. if you still want one, maybe sociology?

  2. Art majors are kind of limited in terms of careers; you could be an art enthusiast basically- working in museums, making art (painting, sculpting, digital arts, whatever your forte is), possibly working as a critic of some kind. If you want a similar minor, find something that would be practical but appealing to you; if your school provides a minor in journalism or English (something like that), that would help with your writing skills and make you more well-rounded. Or if you're a film buff, a film minor (if offered) would be good. Are the Digital arts more your liking? Try something in computer science; it's always good to have a back up like this, just in case the whole "artsy" jobs thing don't bring in the cash you need. Maybe there was a favorite subject of yours in school? Find something in that field. See if a minor is up your alley, then go for it.

  3. Something in the computing field probably. Generally you will only land the best jobs if you are proficient in applications like Photoshop, or 3D stuff like Maya.

  4. Any science major.  Why, because you need a fallback in case you cannot get a good art job.  Probably not what you wanted to hear, but I promise you it is a good idea.

  5. Students who major or minor in art elect either an art history or a studio concentration
