Hello! I am a mom of a special needs child. I am trying to start a support/advocacy/training group in my county for parents of special needs children. Currently we have nothing like this and I have had to venture out to other counties to get help for my son. Now I want to share what I know and help other's in my community that may be going through the same thing I was. I would like something like an anagram, my county is Henry County, if this helps!

THIS IS SERIOUS SO PLEASE ONLY SERIOUS ANSWERS!

I APPRECIATE EVERYONE'S IDEAS!

  1. Henry County Special Parents Assoc.

  2. PAC

    parent action coalition

    parent advisory coalistion

  3. I agree with James C. You need to make sure the name of this support group is easy to understand and simple to find. I have a child with special needs and it took me months to find the local support groups. Keep it simple and clear. More parents will be able to find you this way.

  4. We are SNAFU (Special Needs Advocates for Understanding).  Our special ed system is pretty messed up which is why we chose SNAFU.

I suggest starting with a word that means something to you and working backward.  Henry Educational Learning Partnership or Henry Educational Local Partnership (HELP), or maybe come up with something for HOPE where H is for Henry.  Or maybe Special Education Advocacy Resources for County of Henry (SEARCH). Or Resources for Education and Advocacy in the County of Henry (REACH).

That's about all I can think of right now.

  5. Parents 4 Parents Or Parents Supporting Parents
