What would be a good present for my parents' 20th wedding anniversary?

i dont want to get them anything china

because its tack

theyre 44ish

and we have all necessary household appliances

and i have £50 to spend

Not sure where they live, but tickets to a show could be a good idea (if you know their taste in music or shows like musicals, theatre...), somewhere nice and not too far would be preferable.

Or you could see if you can find a little B&B for a weekend break, somewhere they like (a bit tight for the money, but worth looking at).

Or very different, but a voucher for a professional portrait / family photo shoot, could also be an option (don't buy online, go see the photographer and ask to see example of their work, so you know it will be good quality).

My parents are having their 40th wedding anniversary in august and me and  my sister have organised a party with their close friends and bought an album which we are going to stick pictures in of them throughout their marriage and then get everyone to sign the book.

Another thing is to get family on board and try and figure out who was at their original wedding an invite them all as a reunion.

Think laterally and take them for a Chinese meal - or do the photo thing but get a (non-tacky) china frame or one with chinese symbols on.

How about a china rose bush or 2?

Or celebrate the actual day they did it with a copy of whatever was no 1 on the day.

If you have siblings, you could all pitch in and get them a gift certificate for a bed and breakfast, they might like to get away for a weekend for their anniversary. If that is too expensive, maybe you could get them a nice picture frame with a photo of them on their wedding day, and a picture now with your whole family. I'm sure they'll like anything that you put some thought into.
