My husband is on a boat to far far away...He's asking me what i might want him to send me back from one of their stops close to Israel or surrounding countries. I've been racking my brain for something not cheesy like a spoon, a shot glass, or a t-shirt that says somebody who loves me went (wherever) and all I got was this lousy t-shirt. I also want something that will last through the years to come. Of course it will have to fall in the guidelines of overseas shipping to the USA. I welcome any suggestion. Thanks!

  1. Hookah ;) or Nargila, they are sold all throughout Israel and are a great present to someone who has never seen/used one.

  2. Jewelry

  3. "Michal Nagarin" Jewelry, it's very pretty and very trendy in Israel. http://www.gilposters.co.il/Art/jl100.ht...

You could also go with Johns suggestion - there are very nice Nargilas(or shishas is Arabic), it looks very unique in an American house and it will definitely last long.

  4. At some of the excavation sites you can purchase artifacts, these are sometimes black market, but at others you can buy official bags with mosaics, parts of pottery, etc.  These are pretty amazing gifts, but try not to buy the black market stuff as tempting as it might be you might not be able to get it on a plane, and its just not right.

  5. Jewelry in that region is gorgeous, and always a good bet (and can range in prices from low to high).  Some people like a bottle of sand/dirt from Israel, since it's considered holy to many different religions.  I personally love Israeli chocolate, but have bought people cd's of the local music, keychains with blessings on them, and even a cool alarm clock that wakes you up with the call to prayer "allah wakbar"  Lots of options!!

  6. if you want something israeli you can buy "hamsa" google it and you will see it, allot of israeli people have it it's against  evil eye (superstition).even if you don't believe  in evil eye it is pretty.
