What would be a good shoe for traveling in hot/humid areas?

What would be a good shoe, not sandals, to be worn while traveling in hot climates. Something that would be kind to the feet without having to carry or wear socks.

Try shoes from Timberland or Sperry, which you don't need sock with.  Just make sure there's no seams to irritate your feet when you wear them barefoot.  Make sure they're leather lined around the back of your heel-much less likely to get blisters.  And bring a couple pair of socks just in case!  You can wash out low sport socks in the sink and they'll dry overnight.
