I am 17 and I have been doing musical theatre for years so I'm not exactly new at this, but I would love to be able to play Dorothy and I need my audition to be perfect. I'm open to any song suggestions you may have. Thanks!

  1. a song from grease or abba

    or

    somewhere over the rainbow

  2. somewhere over the rainbow?

  3. somewhere over the rainbow. If your going to be auditioning for the wizard of oz, Why not use a song from it? If your experienced, and good at singing, im sure that will land the part.

  4. Definatly "somewhere over the rainbow"!!!!!

  5. Some where over the rainbow of course.

  6. you could choose "over the rainbow" but at an audition there probley sick of hearing that song. Personally i would choose another song but with the same difficulty as "over the rainbow". I would suggest choosing another musical song, something people are familiar with e.g songs from annie, mary poppins etc. but its all up to you. choose a song which sows off your singing ability wether its a lower tonned song or a higher :)

    good luck

    all the best

    Good Luck!

    D.T

    :)

  12. Somewhere over the rainbow or anything from Pink Floyd's album dark side of the moon

  13. some where over the rainbo would be the most obvious one to pick. but everyone auditioning would proabably do that so there is alot to compare you too.

why dont you do another classical musical song

for example something from les miserables. like i dreamed a dream

or a song from wicked. maybee im not that girl.

hope that helped at all :)

  14. somewhere over the rainbow but it's not because it's in it, it's just a great song to sing at auditions!

    Leona Lewis bleeding Love

    Taio Cruz I can be

Whitney Houston wanna dance with somebody

    hellogoodbye baby it's fact

Jonas brothers you just don't know it or hello beautiful

Gabriella cilmi save the lies or sweet about me

I can think of more so e-mail me!!

  15. I think that Over the Rainbow would be perfect. It has a good range for both altos and sopranos.

  16. a song from the Wizard of Oz movie

  17. somewhere over the rainbow.

or, heaven, by brian adams. beautiful song.

  18. Well, Somewhere over the rainbow sounds good.

Or a song for wicked. If you have Glinda's voice, do Popular. That will show of your skills in a great way. But if you don't have that type of voice, then try a song that Elphaba sings, like No good deed. If you can do it.

Other then that, I can't really say. Do what your instincts tell you. Good Luck honey.

  19. omg?  Over the Rainbow?  are yall people serious?

If you sing OtR the castors will not remember you because you'll be like every other girl trying out for Dorothy.

If anything, DONT sing OtR unless you're asked to.  Pick a song that makes you experience the same emotions Dorothy would.  For Example:  If the song "What Hurts the Most"  makes you emotional, sing that.  It shows that you can be emotional.  Millions of people world wide can sing, but a lot less can make you really "Feel" the song.

  20. some where over the rain bow that way you would already know all the words..and one less thing to memorise is always good

  21. Somewhere over the Rainbow I'd say

  22. Over the Rainbow. It will show different musical talents. Dorothy's voice needs to have range and that song would be perfect.

  23. if i only had a brain

  24. a song from wicked

  25. id say over the rainbow it seems like a tough song so u can really show off your skills

  26. Well so long as you can cover that octave spread you should be golden.

Don't sing anything from the show, though.  It comes off as mighty presumptuous.

  27. Somewhere Over the Rainbow

  28. I Could Have Danced All Night - My Fair Lady

Show Me - My Fair Lady

If I Were a Bell - Guys and Dolls

What I Did For Love - A Chorus Line

Don't sing Over the Rainbow.  The Director will be sick of it and you won't stand out.  Give them something to remember you by.

  29. somewhere over the rainbow...it depends on what part you want
