What would be a good way to bring lavender and chocolate together for a spring wedding?

I need ideas for centerpieces, bridesmaids dresses, groomsmen attire, etc. My colors are lavender and chocolate. Any ideas would be very helpful. My wedding will be in March of 2009. What are good wedding favors that are inexpensive? I will be doing a Two Hearts theme.

  2. my cousin got married in march and had chocolate bunnies (easter) as centre pieces........but since you have the "two hearts" theme, what if you went around valentine's day and got a bunch of chocolate hearts for centre pieces.  you could decorate them accordingly (lavender bows or whatever) and your guests could eat them so you won't have to worry about packing up 20 centre pieces at the end of the night.  You could also do some kind of chocolate fountain for just the head table or something (careful with that, don't want to get too close for it to splatter on your guests, or worse, YOU!)  Good luck with wedding plans!!

  3. Dagoba makes dark chocolate with lavender in it. It's delicious and would make good favors. Nothing beats chocolate.

  4. That sounds so cool!

For favors, chocolate is easy, of course. You can get personalized kisses or chocolate bars or other candies with "john and jane, may 1, 2009" or whatever on them. I also saw some fabulous ideas for wedding keepsakes (for the guests) made of lavender plants, they were tied like little brooms and decorated with flowers and ribbons, then you can keep them for years and years as decorative and scented keepsakes (like, keep them in your closet, they smell awesome). Real lavender is also cheap to find, so you can incorporate that into your bouquets and centerpieces.

I don't know what area you're in, but David's Bridal has a thing now where you can mesh different colors into bridesmaids gowns ... like a lavendar gown with chocolate sash, or vice-versa. I'd recommend checking that out.

  5. Hershey's kisses do come in a pretty lavender foil. I'm not sure what season it is, but I have seen them. I think it's right around Valentine's day that they come out.

This would be a good favor, everyone likes chocolate and it ties your color scheme together.

    They might have something there.

  6. Get with your wedding planner or florist.  They will have tons of ideas for you!

  7. You can actually buy lavendar colored candies.  There are places you can get mini chocolate candy bars with your names and wedding dates printed on the wrappers.  Around valentines day, you can buy the white paper doillies in the hear shape and use lavendar waterpaints to color them, you can have one of those chocolate fountains sitting somewhere, For flowers, you might find it hard to find anything brown tone, so you might substitue a cream/ivory with lavendar flower highlights, or reversed.  Use brown color ribbons, bows, tulle, etc.  You can find tulle in any color, and it is very flexible to make stunning decorations around columns, in your pew bows, floral arrangements, etc.  Put the guys in chocolate brown tuxes, with a cream or white shirt, with lavendar bouttineers.  Gosh, lots of ideas, but take the two color swatches with you where-ever you shop for any wedding clothes, cake, flowers, or accessories.

  8. This site has TONS of two hearts stuff. I found plenty of things including favors for your wedding.  Happy shopping!
