  1. We have used  what ever the letter we are on things that match like letter B we put up butterflies, bumble bees, buttercups since we are also dealing with summer this way it goes also with the season.

  2. the best ideas i have ever used involved a ever changing board. we began with a generic background with a mixture of blues and yellows and greens (painted by the children in strips) and then added items to make a variety of boards.

one week we discussed the ocean and we made fish, seahorses, and boats.

the next week we discussed the beach and made a sand castle with real sand and added seashells(and removed some of the fish and seashorses)

the following week we discussed the park and things people do at the park. we added some trees, and grass, and benches(all made by the children) and removed the rest of the sea life and sand castle and shells as we added the park scene.

then we discussed games to play outside like baseball, basketball, four square, and other things like picnics at the park and added balls of all sizes and then a picnic blanket filled with plates of food the children cut or tore out of magazines and newpapers.

that way the actual background stayed up all summer but the front items changed on a week to week basis and no child ever felt left out if they were on vacation for a week or so but they each had a chance to have their work on the board so parents and othe family got to see.

  3. Summer Daze and post new art work up

SummerTime Fun Around Our World~ Post pictures of your students and field trips or trips they take during the summer.

  4. use a summer theme that's not to restricting and so that way you can change the children's artwork often.

  5. Ocean, aquarium, Hawaii.  Go to enchantedlearning.com to see bulletin board ideas.

  6. Flowers, green grass, sun shining, tree with child swinging.

  7. I worked with three's and fours.  Make it a 3-d board. Put yellow and blue tissue paper crumpled up around board, than add blue contact paper on board background, than plastic fish, blue construction paper for waves, plastic toy boats, pics of Nemo, etc. Use a digital camera to take pics of the kids. Than upload them onto your computers scanner. Than use the pic's and cut them out and paste them onto the fishes faces, now the kids are the fish! Call it, "Splashing our way into Summer Fun."

  8. Oceans is very common but here are some more suggestions.

    Teacher Appreciation

Picnics-Make the board a huge picnic table and have the kids paint various things on a picnic table such as huge ants, paper plates, bags, glue things with cherrios, fruit loops etc.

    National Blueberry Month(July)

    Watermelons/summer fruits

    Bugs

    Hope one of those helps

  9. Our "School" of Fish:

PIcs of the kids faceso n various fish in brighty colors. Lots of blue, green and fun crepe paper. Lots of seashells, maybe some beach stuff.

Check out the site www.perpetualpreschool.com lots of great ideas!

  10. What about summer things?  Cutouts of beach balls, sunscreen, beach bucket and shovel, watermelon, bathing suits, pictures of the kids, ect. The title could be "_________on a summer day!"

    (daycare name)

Another idea is you could have a cutout of a lemonade stand, an ice cream bulletin board would be fun also.  Hope this helps!
