What would be a high quality HD TV?

I want a 42in LCD that is under $900. I'm also looking for one that has a good picture.

Vizio! Best way to go if not willing to spend money otherwise look to blow some of your paycheck

Samsung is a good one. Also try Insignia - it's BestBuy's house brand and is made by LG. Toshiba is tops but you'll pay for it, they've had less than a 2% return rate for several years.

Stay away from DLP, HIDLA and Plasma. DLP and HIDLA have bulbs in the video processor that go out after about 500 hrs use and cost $400-$800 to replace. Plasma is OK and costs less than LCD but doesn't last as long either.
