What would be a realistic goal to finish a 10k race in if i have 8 months from now to train and i have a PB this year of 41:29 in the 10k?

  1. It depends on what kind of training you did to get to your personal best and what kind of training you have in mind to improve.

    At a 6:40min/mile pace, you already have a respectable time! If you keep your workouts varied, making sure you do long slow runs as well as speed and hill training, you should be able to best your record.  

    I'd say in 8 months of good training with that as your specific goal in mind, you could shave 20 sec/mile off for a 6:20 pace and a 39:21 finish.  If you have other races that might get prioritized, that changes your 10K outcome too.
