I'm not sure of the alternative compound for morphine, but this is a very interesting question.

Benefits of morphine are faster pain relief, more druggish feel. Side effects are slow recovery from morphine (like it takes a while to get rid of the drug effect) and you feel really awful after it wears off.

Same with anaesthesia.

Many other homeopathic remedies that could be used but you need to repertorize as to the kind of pain it is.  So burning pain could be Apis, generally Arnica is tried a lot of times for pain too, but there is a LOT of different homeopahtic remedies for pain of all types, but it does take some experience sometimes to match the pain if the first general ones you try to not work.
