  1. The Air Force is in the military.  I think the AF is a lot more female friendly than some of the other branches of the service.  A lot has to do with what the woman wants as a career.

To join you need a high school diploma, and to do some research after you talk to a recruiter.  And, you do know not to believe every single thing your recruiter says, right?  There's a physical exam, too, but that's no big deal if you're reasonably fit.

Don't let the recruiter pressure you, and while you're deciding, do everything you can to increase your stamina.  You're just going to be doing a lot more physically than you normally do, so anything that increases your endurance is a good thing.  Start running, go to the Y every day for a cardio class, stuff like that.  While you're doing that, decide what you want to do in the service, and what you really don't want to do.  There are areas in which it's easier to advance than others, and that will impact what you choose (stay away from ordnance).

Check out USAF on wikipedia--it has a LOT of good info.

    Good luck, and aim high!

  2. The air force is part of the military.  There are the marines, navy, army and air force.

  3. The Air Force is in the military. All you need for any of the branches is a Diploma or a GED. Realize that you will be limited on what you can do in any of the services due to your gender, but you should do some research and figure out which one has the opportunities you are looking for.

  4. The A/F is the Military but out of the choices of branches , the Air Force is a great place for a Woman. It really comes down to personal choice. I was Air Force and found it to be like a 9 to 5 job unlike the other branches. That's what I preferred. All you need is a Diploma and the will to be a team player.

  5. It would be better if said woman understood the AF was PART of the military...

As for the requirements, each branch of service is different. However, I would highly recommend you actually do some research. You seem to be rather in the dark about the simplest concepts here.

  6. That's funny that you don't consider the Air Force to be the military.

But to answer your question, there are now many options for women in all branches of service.

  7. Um, last time I checked, the air force WAS the military.

  8. That's a great question, at least the way you phrased it.  All of the military branches, and I know it's hard to believe that the Air Force is part of the military, have great opportunities for women.  Check them all out, add the Coast Guard to your choices (they are technically part of the Department of Homeland Security).
